5 ways to customize the editor:

1) if you go into tools and click customize keyboard (or right click on the toolbar) you can customize your toolbars up the top as well as create your own toolbar
2) in the customise menu go to the options tab and you can turn on "show shortcut keys" which allows you to see what each icon does by hovering your mouse over it
3) if you go to the keyboard tab in the customise menu you can create hot keys on the keyboard to help you with any command
4) if you go to preferences you can turn on "geometry on mouse over" which allows you to then you hover over your objects it highlights it.
5) you can resize and change the resolution of your viewport by scrolling the rollup bar to the left or right as well as any other screen you would like to add to the viewport
